Strong H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price is strong tone at 127,000 yen per tonne without freight for 200 by 100 millimeters width at dealers’ sites around Tokyo. The market price increased when Nippon Steel, Japanese major steel maker, raised selling price by 15,000 yen per tonne in July. Some dealer contracted selling price at 130,000 yen per tonne. The market price is likely to additionally rise.The price shows sign to peak when the makers’ selling price has wide range of 105,000-128,000 yen. The price is likely to keep the level unless Nippon Steel would announce price hike for July order in early July.Dealers’ shipment keeps slow in July due to weak demand. Some building contractor became bankrupt. Award volume of makers decreased by 50% in June from May. The volume is increasing by 20% in July from June. However, makers are reducing the supply against slow demand. Dealers’ inventory slightly decreased when their warehousing volume decreased by 10% in July from last month.Because Nippon Steel raised selling price, the market price became upward trend once again. However, the market price is expected to become comfortable by degrees when ferrous scrap price decreased.
