Japanese shipbuilding start was 26 units and 1.357 million gross ton at 52 plants in June, according to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The shipbuilding completion was 34 units and 156 million gross ton. The total value of the completion was 17.405 billion yen, which represented 7.7% lower than a year earlier.
The completion for domestic buyers was 4 units and 161,777 gross ton in June. The value was 29.623 billion yen. The completion for export was 1.398 million gross ton and 144.431 billion yen.
