Sumikei Aluminum Foil to Hike Al Foil Products in October

Sumikei Aluminum Foil, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Light Metal Industries, announced on Wednesday the firm raises the selling price of aluminium foil products for shipment in and after October. The firm will raise the rolling charge for plain foil by more than 20 yen per kilogram while increase the selling price by 5-15% for manufactured foil and by more than 10% for daily commodity. The firm will also offer the price system to change the foil price automatically along the fluctuation of primary aluminium market to the users those who have not adopted the price system.Sumikei Aluminum Foil has absorbed higher costs such for primary aluminium, fuel, rolling oil, petrochemical, packaging and distribution by themselves while have reflected the cost upsurge on the selling price partially. These costs continue increasing even more and the firm decided the price hike.Other Japanese aluminium foil makers have also announced the price hike. Osaka based Toyo Aluminium, the Japanese largest producer of aluminium foil, will raise the selling price of electrode foil, plain foil and manufactured foil in October. Showa Denko plans to raise the rolling charge of high purity aluminium foil for capacitors in October.
