Firm Cr Stainless Cold Sheet, Weak Ni Series in Tokyo

Stainless cold rolled flat steel market price is weak at around 480,000 yen per tonne for SUS304 grade around Tokyo while the price is firm at 270,000 yen for SUS430. The nickel series product is also expected to approach bottom when nickel ingot price is hitting bottom. Nickel ingot price was averaged US$ 8.59 per pound in August and the price keeps around US$ 8.5 in September. The price is hitting bottom after long downward from peak in March. Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel and Nisshin Steel announce the selling price for distributors in September. The nickel series price is expected to decrease from previous month but the price could be bottom. A major processor source said the contract price is more than 500,000 yen per tonne for nickel series products while a small dealer said the point is to keep more the price more than 450,000 yen. The demand and price condition is mixed depending on the applications and suppliers’ positions.
