Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 34,000 yen per tonne for H2, at around 36,300 yen for H1 and at around 38,000 yen for H2 at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm under recovering market mood. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 39,500-41,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade scrap and some pay as high as 43,000 yen. The dealers increased the purchase price by around 3,000 yen last week when the makers keep increasing the purchase price to compete with export shipping prices. Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 35,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
