Flat Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 4,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, around 5,400 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and around 4,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level despite of the major production cut by the local steel makers.

Local electric furnace steel makers pay 9,000-11,500 yen per tonne for turning scrap. The supply is balanced despite of the major production cut by local makers due to very low scrap supply. Local steel makers and scrap dealers keep the scrap purchase price recently under the supply condition.

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 8,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
