Bunka Shutter, Fuji Sash Agree for Alliance

Bunka Shutter and Fuji Sash announced on Monday they agreed for capital and business alliance. Steel oriented Bunka Shutter and aluminium oriented Fuji Sash seek synergy under severe business condition. They keep talking at special task force to step forward by potential actions including integration of production and logistics sites.

Bunka Shutter purchases Fuji Sash’s 1.5 million preference share held by Risona Bank and converts into 29.62 million common share. Bunka Shutter holds 30.1% interest in Fuji Sash and Fuji Sash becomes equity method affiliate of Bunka Shutter.

Bunka Shutter expects they combine Bunka Shutter’s automation technology and Fuji Sash’s watertight and airtight technology for potential new products. Bunka Shutter also expects the firm’s nationwide network is supported by Fuji Sash’s business base in urban areas. Fuji Sash expects the firm can expand the business field mainly based on building sash through the tie-up.
