Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 13,500 yen per tonne for H2, around 15,300 yen for H1 and around 17,000 yen for H2 at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under the balanced supply.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 20,000-22,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade scrap. The scrap export shipping is firm from Tokyo bay while the local steel makers are still in major production cut. The makers already secured the materials for consumption during the major holiday week in early May. The price is expected to stay the level while some makers reduced the scrap purchase price marginally. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 12,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
