Japanese major 4 aluminium sash makers posted net loss for fiscal 2008 ended March 2009 due to higher raw materials cost in the first half year and lower demand and unrecoverable account receivable in the second half. Three of them except for Shin Nikkei expect to regain profitability in fiscal 2009 due to lower taw materials cost and cost cutting effort along with stimulus package.
Tostem Corporation posted 3 billion yen of net loss for fiscal 2008 due to loss for bass room and kitchen business. The firm expects to improve the profitability in fiscal 2009 but the business condition is still severe. YKK AP also posted net loss for fiscal 2008 due to very slow domestic construction materials market. The firm expects to post net profit for fiscal 2009. Shin Nikkei posted wider net loss for fiscal 2008. The firm launched restructure program including job cut and removing loss making operation. Fuji Sash also posted net loss for fiscal 2008.
