Weak Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is decreasing at around 6,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, around 7,400 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and around 6,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep week due to slower consumption by local makers.

The local electric furnace steel makers pay 11,000-13,500 yen per tonne for turning scrap. The dealers reduced the purchase price by 1,000 yen in the week under easier local supply when the steel makers reduce the purchase price and limit the purchase volume.

Ferrous scrap market price is decreasing at around 10,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade at the dealers’ purchase price around Osaka. The local electric furnace steel makers pay 17,000-18,500 yen.
