H-beam market price decreased to 70,000 yen per tonne by 1,000 yen around Tokyo, which decreased by 57,000 yen from the peak in September 2008. The market price decreased to the level before 5 years and 3 months.
Users’ order keeps low. Moreover, the market price is gaining momentum downturn by the price cut of Tokyo Steel Manufacturing. Consequently, the market price is facing below 70,000 yen per tonne. Users have advantage to buy H-beam due to low demand for building construction despite of rising ferrous scrap price. Dealers can’t get the profit, but some dealers are reducing the selling price due to sales competition. H-beam makers maintain output reduction, and are trying to supply it with the demand. However, dealers’ inventory is excess due to low demand.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
