Flat Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 12,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, around 12,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and around 12,400 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under balanced supply.

Local electric furnace steel makers pay 18,500-19,500 yen per tonne for turning scrap. The scrap dealers’ purchase price increased by 2,000-3,000 yen in June along with steel makers’ higher purchase price under tight supply. The price is peaking recently but the dealers expect the price keep the level under current supply balance.

Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 16,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 24,500-25,500 yen for H2 grade and some makers pay more.
