Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 17,500 yen per tonne for H2, around 19,300 yen for H1 and around 21,000 yen for HS at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm due to lower supply and export shipment for existing orders.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 24,500-26,000 yen per tonne for H2 scrap. Some makers increased the purchase price in the week but the averaged price level is same level as last week.
