Tostem closes sash making Shoo plant in Okayama, Japan at the end of November to improve production efficiency, announced on Monday. The firm pursues optimizing and reorganizing domestic manufacturing facilities when the domestic house building decreases significantly and the firm expands the offshore production. The firm transfers the manufacturing items at Shoo plant to Yamato plant and Iwai plant in Ibaraki, Hisai plant in Mie and Ariake plant in Kumamoto. The firm keeps the Okayama logistics center, which is nearby Shoo plant, as the distribution base. Tostem’s domestic manufacturing sites decrease to 25 plants in and after December by the closing while the firm has 2 overseas facilities.
