Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 19,000 yen per tonne for H2, around 20,800 yen for H1 and around 22,500 yen for HS at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under balanced supply.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 25,500-27,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade. The scrap dealers ship the materials for coastal yard when the exporters keep shipping for Asian buyers while the local scrap supply is very slow. The local demand is still low level under production cut and seasonal maintenance outage. However, the dealer source expects the supply is likely to keep balanced due to export shipment for existing orders.
