Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 24,000 yen per tonne for H2, around 25,800 yen for H1 and around 27,500 yen for HS at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep firm under tight local supply.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 30,500-32,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade scrap. The makers increase the purchase price gradually under higher export price from Tokyo bay and low level scrap supply. The purchase price increased by 3,000-4,000 yen from the beginning of the month. Ferrous scrap market price moved to higher level around Osaka at around 23,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade at the dealers’ purchase price.
