Mitsubishi Heavy Industries launches the production of lithium-ion secondary battery from fall 2010, announced on Wednesday. The firm builds a commercial production verification plant inside of Nagasaki shipyard & machinery works in Nagasaki, Japan. The production capacity is 66,000 kilowatt hours per year, which is equivalent to 400,000 medium-size cells. The firm aims to put the battery in its forklift trucks and wind turbine power generation system while the firm has supplied the battery for sample use, which developed with Kyushu Electric Power.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries starts the construction of verification plant this fall and to improve operation rate, tact time and cost. The firm plans to build full-scale commercial plant of lithium-ion secondary battery in 2011.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
