Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 23,000 yen per tonne for H2, around 24,800 yen for H1 and around 26,500 yen for HS at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely not to decrease widely under tight supply despite of the recent decrease for steel makers’ purchase price.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 29,500-31,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade scrap. Tokyo Steel Manufacturing decreased the purchase price by 1,000 yen on Thursday and other makers followed the move. The demand is slow when some makers reduce the output under summer season maintenance but the industry interests expect the supply could keep tight when the supply keeps very slow partly due to export shipping for existing orders. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 23,000 yen per tonne for H2 around Osaka. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 29,500-31,500 yen for H2.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
