Weak H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam price is weak at 72,000-73,000 yen per tonne for base size with 200 by 100 millimeters width around Tokyo. Dealers’ shipment became stagnant more after late May. Some dealers are decreasing the reselling price to around 70,000 yen.

Dealers’ inventory was likely to keep flat at the end of May from a month ago. Dealers’ shipment volume seemed to decrease by around 5% in May from April with fewer business days. Some size products are running short while some products are stocked for 3 months.

Steel makers are decreasing H-beam selling price to large contract users, at below 70,000 yen per tonne in some cases. Dealers’ reselling prices are impacted.
