Column Price to Decline to 120,000 Yen/t in Tokyo

Large diameter square pipe or steel column market price is decreasing to 120,000 yen per tonne at the dealers’ site for cut and beveling processed products with 300 by 300 millimeter width and 12 mm thickness around Tokyo. Many dealers are decreasing the reselling price due to low demand. The bottom price is around 115,000 yen.

Dealers’ inventory volume decreased by around 5% at the end of May from a month ago. Dealers’ shipment volume kept flat in May from April. The makers keep the selling price. Dealers’ warehousing volume decreased in May from April when dealers are holding off the order volume.

Makers’ order receipts decreased almost halved in May from a year earlier. Dealers are reducing the orders when dealers are purchasing the products form makers at the higher price than the market price.

Decline of other steel products market price became calm down but large diameter square pipe or steel column market price is dropping at a high pace. Makers’ price policy is noticed by market players.
