Hard price negotiations continue between offshore primary aluminium producers and Japanese ingot users for October-December premium. Some producers and users and seem to have agreed at US$ 115 per tonne while most of them cannot discover agreeable points yet.
Aluminium producers have offered US$ 120-130 per tonne for October-December. Japanese ingot users have strongly disapproved against the wide premium hike by maximum 70% from July-September. Some ingot producers compromised and agreed with Japanese ingot users to set the premium at US$ 115 per tonne. However, most ingot suppliers keep strong selling stances with background of strong demand in Asia. Japanese ingot consumers are negative against the producers’ wide price hike when domestic demand for rolled aluminium products still stays very low compared with the peak. Wide price range is expected for October-December premium as same as July-September.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
