Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 22,000 yen per tonne for H2, around 23,800 yen for H1 and around 25,500 yen for HS grade at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep the level under tight supply.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 28,500-30,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Tokyo. The makers’ demand will decrease after the 5-days holiday through Wednesday while they built scrap inventory for the operation during the holiday. However, the local supply is expected to keep tight due to very slow scrap generation and the dealers’ low level scrap inventory. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 22,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka at the dealers’ purchase price.
