Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 20,500 yen per tonne for H2, around 22,300 yen for H1 and around 24,000 yen for HS grade at the purchase price by the dealers including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level despite of the recent peak out of the international market.
Local electric furnace steel makers pay 27,000-28,500 yen per tonne for H2. The export shipping price decreased and the local steel makers reduced the purchase price. The steel makers’ purchase price decreased by 3,000-4,000 yen from the peak in third week in August. However, some Japanese scrap dealers expect the lower price could attract offshore buyers resulting in tighter supply in the domestic market. Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 21,500 yen per tonne for H2 around Osaka. Local electric furnace steel makes pay 28,500-30,000 yen for H2.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
