Ni Stainless Cold Rolled Price to Increase in Tokyo

Nickel series stainless cold rolled steel sheet market price is flat with potential strength around Tokyo while the shipment is flat since mid October. SUS 304 market price is around 305,000-310,000 yen per tonne for base size.

The demand for cold rolled stainless steel sheet was firm in August-September when dealers increased the purchase of it from other distributors to replenish stock under the tight supply and rising market price of cold stainless sheet.

However, one major dealer source concerns about the advance in price hike when trade firms seemed to import large volume of sheet from China and Taiwan. However, the source argues the total cost of domestic product is more reasonable than imported when the yield of domestic product is higher than overseas.

It is certain that stainless steel makers increase the selling price in November when nickel price increased by US$ 8.4 per pound in October from September. Market sources are concerned about the advance in price hike while the demand remains low. The price would increase in short range.
