Flat Stainless Welded Pipe Price in Tokyo

Stainless steel welded pipe market price is firm at around 400,000 yen per tonne for SUS304 grade around Tokyo. The dealers try to increase the reselling price since July but the increasing pace is slowing recently. The demand recovery is fading since November when the market interests concern potential negative growth after the demand recovered under finished inventory adjustment and recovering building activity.

The dealers can pass around half to 3/4 of makers’ price hike on the reselling price. The dealers still try to pass the remaining parts on the market but the market is likely not to accept the additional price increase.

A dealer source said the inventory decreases but the shipment is flat with still slow building activity. The source said some of the dealers try to liquidate the inventory at lower price to make cash toward yearend.
