Galvanizing Steel Sheet Price in Weak Tone, Tokyo

Hot dipped galvanizing sheet market price decreased by 1,000-2,000 yen to 88,000-89,000 yen per tonne around Tokyo. Electrogalvanizing sheet price is weak at 87,000 yen per tonne for hot coil based products and 97,000-99,000 yen per tonne for cold sheet based products.

The demand keeps stagnant for building materials. Japanese new starting floor spaces of non-housing buildings decreased for 8 consecutive months in October from a year earlier. Especially, floor spaces of factories or shops significantly decreased.

Dealers’ shipment of electrogalvanizing sheet represents slow for building materials while steady for electric appliances. The supply and demand balance is relativly tight. Electrogalvanizing sheet market price is expected to keep flat with potential weakness.

On the other hand, hot dipping sheet market price is likely to decrease. The supply and demand balance is easing due to severe sales competition among dealers.
