Weak H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price decreased to 61,000-62,000 yen per tonne by 1,000 yen for 200 by 100 millimeters width Tokyo. Equal angle steel market price decreased to 70,000 yen by 1,000 yen and channel steel market price decreased to 72,000-74,000 yen. These prices are expected to continue decreasing for a while when the demand isn’t clear in the future.

Dealers’ inventory for H-beam keeps low level when dealers are reducing the order. Their order volume more decreased in December when H-beam makers keeps the selling price more than the market price.

The demand for steel frame decreased to 97500 tonnes by 35% in October from a year earlier around Tokyo, which isn’t expected to rebound after the beginning of next year.

Channel price of Osaka Steel and JFE Bards & Shapes, major steel makers is higher by over 10,000 yen per tonne than other steel makers. Because makers’ selling price is different, dealers’ selling price has variable.
