Weak Square Steel Pipe Price in Tokyo

Mid-diameter square steel pipe market price is weak at around 930,000 yen per tonne for base sized carbon pipe and around 102,000 yen for colored products in Tokyo.

Market trading is not so active as of the new year start. Dealers’ shipment keeps low since the yearend. There are few small-middle size building constructions around Tokyo. The demand condition is unclear in a short term.

Some dealers complied with users’ price cut requests to secure the sales volume. Dealers are suffered from worse profitability when the market price is lower than decent level.

Uses keeps see-and-wait stances because the market price is expected to lower. Steel dealers try to sustain the reselling price to avoid profit deterioration.
