Japanese die casing maker, Ahresty’s productive subsidiary in China, Guangzhou Ahresty Casting (GAC) expects its die casting production and sales will almost double year-to-year in 2010. GAC’s annual output is estimated to approach 20,000 tonnes or less through 2010. The subsidiary is enjoying the order increase from Japanese automakers’ plants such as Nissan Motor, Toyota Motor and Honda Motor.
GAC’s die casting production and sales in 2009 increased by 50% from 2008 and hit the record volume thanks to the demand recovery based on Chinese government’s scrap incentive measure. GAC had expected its annual output reaches 10,000 tonnes as of mid 2009. The actual output seemed slightly lower than 10,000 tonnes. Order receipts are increasing mainly for engine and missions. GAC keeps full operation of its 18 die casting machines. An additional 800-tonne die casting machine, transferred from Japanese plant, will start operation within this month. Ahresty plans to move several 2,500-tonne machines from Japanese plant to GAC during 2010 to meet order increase. Japanese automakers, those who purchase die casting from GAC, forecast Chinese car market would grow by 10-20% in 2010 from 2009.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
