Ferrous scrap market price is flat at around 15,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade, around 16,800 yen for H1 grade and 18,500 yen for HS grade at the dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under mixed market.
The local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price is around 21,500-23,000 yen for H2 grade. Ferrous scrap market price declined by 4,000-4,500 yen per tonne around Tokyo in October when the export decreased while local electric furnace steels did not increase scrap purchase. The order receipt for export is increasing. One dealer source sees the demand increase in export could lift the market price.
