BNA Starts No.3 Galvanizing Line 2-Month Earlier

Baosteel-NSC/Arcelor Mittal Automotive Steel Sheets, which is Shanghai based automotive sheet manufacturing joint venture of Nippon Steel, Baoshan Iron & Steel and Arcelor Mittal, started the operation of No.3 continuous galvanizing line on February 1, announced by Nippon Steel on Tuesday. BNA started the new line 2 months ahead of original schedule to meet rapid growing demand in China.

BNA became the largest high grade automotive sheet producer in China increasing the capacity by 450,000 tonnes to 1.25 million tonnes per year. Nippon Steel plans to increase the capacity more to meet the increasing demand in China as the No.1 supplier of high grade automobile steel.

BNA’s No.3 CGL is the same type of No.1 CGL and the capacity is annual 450,000 tonnes as same No.1. BNA manufactures high grade automotive sheet with No.1 and No.2 CGL with 350,000 tonnes of output capacity at the full capacity when Chinese automobile production keeps high level.
