H-beam price is increasing from 62,000-63,000 yen per tonne around Tokyo. The dealers increased the offer to 63,000 yen in February and the users start to accept the higher price. The market price would increase gradually when the supply and demand balance tightens due to the limited supply by the makers.
The dealers reduced the purchase volume under unforeseeable demand in January and the inventory held by the dealers seems to be decreasing. However, the daily shipment seems to decrease by about 5% in February from January after the speculative demand before the hike. Tokyo Steel Manufacturing and other Japanese H-beam makers increase the export while ferrous scrap price and overseas H-beam market price are increasing. The makers try to find the timing to increase the domestic price more as increasing overseas price.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
