Japanese major automotive parts maker, Unipres Corporation decided to expand output capacity of Chinese body parts operation. The firm expands plant building at the subsidiary, Unipres Guangzhou for 1.5 billion yen to launch new 2,500 tonne transfer press and 600 tonnes press blanking machines in mid-2011.
Chinese automobile market increases when the automobile output is expected to reach 16 million units in 2010 after the output increased by around 48% to 13.79 million units in 2009 from 2008. Unipres tried to increase the supply through adjustment of workforce schedule at local subsidiary and OEM to local parts makers.
