Japanese Al Rolled Product Production Firmly Recovers in February

Japanese domestic production of aluminium rolled products, including plates and extrusions, increased by 44.4% to 161,882 tonnes in February from a year earlier while the shipment increased by 45.4% to 164,237 tonnes, according to Japan Aluminium Association. Both the production and the shipment represented year-to-year increase for 3 months in a row.

The production of flat products represented year-to-year increase for 3 straight months while the shipment for 4 months. Both the production and the shipment recovered by more than 50%.

The production and the shipment of extrusions represented year-to-year increase for 3 straight months. The demand represented the first year-to-year increase from constructions after 37 months while the demand steadily recovered from automobile industry.

Aluminium foil production and shipment showed year-to-year increase for 4 straight months. The demand expanded by 7 times from electric machines and components, including capacitors.
