World primary aluminium ingot production increased by 1.3% to 2.045 million tonnes in March from a year earlier, according to International Aluminium Institute. The production in China, which is non-member country of IAI, increased by 57.9% to 1.394 million tonnes and the production annualized 16.42 million tonnes. The world production including China increased by 18.5% to 3.439 million tonnes and annualized 40.479 million tonnes.
The production increased by 18.1% to 438,000 tonnes in Asia excluding China in March from a year earlier when the new smelting plants increased the output in Middle East.
