Steel Wire Products Price Increases by 5,000 yen around Osaka

Carbon steel wire products market price increased around Osaka. The dealers passed the higher cost price to the reselling price after wire products makers increased the price. The price would increase more.

Steel wire products market increased by around 5,000 yen per tonne around Osaka, according to the dealer sources. The price increased for the first time since summer of 2008. The market price is around 135,000 yen for nail with 100 millimeters length, 131,000 yen for annealed wire with 4 millimeters diameter and 183,000 yen for galvanized wire.

Japanese steel makers increased wire rod price by 15,000 yen per tonne from the shipment in April. The price is likely to increase more after July due to the surge in steelmaking material. Steel wire products makers and the dealers try to raise the products price.

However, the range of increase in the price of steel wire products is around 5,000 yen per tonne. The users are reluctant to accept the price hike due to the slowdown in the construction market. The dealers try to cover the higher cost price.
