Japan H-beam Inventory Increases to 200,000t in June

H-beam inventory of dealers, which dealing Nippon Steel’s H-beam dealers group increased by 6.6% to 203,900 tonnes in June from May, which increased to more than 200,000 tonnes for the first time in 5 months. The inventory increased for 3 months in a row. The inventory is excess against the demand while the inquiries decrease, according to Nippon Steel.

Nippon Steel skips the order receipt in July and the firm plans to reduce the output more to adjust the supply and demand balance.

The dealers’ daily shipment decreased by slightly more than 20% in June from May and the inventory rate increased by 1.8 percentage point to 2.73 months to the shipment while the adequate level is regarded 2 months. Nippon steel said the inventory increased when some steel makers accepted the order from the dealers.

Nippon Steel commented the firm has to increase the price due to the higher cost. The firm plans to increase the price after the supply and demand balance adjustment.
