Metal One Enhances Business Bases in Southeast Asia

Metal One, Japanese major steel business house enhances business base in Southeast Asia when steel demand in Southeast area is expanding. Indonesia Steel Tube Works (ISTW), welded steel tube maker starts operation of new plant in Indonesia for motorcycle and automobile within fiscal 2010 at ended March 2011. Iron Wire Works Indonesia, steel wire processing maker mulls enhance production capacity in the future. In Vietnam, Metal One kicks around establishment of local company. Metal one builds up processing and sales network in Southeast Asia and secures growing steel demand.

ISTW established with Maruichi Steel Tube and local company in Indonesia, and produced welded steel tube at about 83,000 tonnes to domestic users in fiscal 2009, which supplied it for motorcycle ad automobile with 70% of all sales. Because motorcycle and automobile output is increasing in Indonesia, ISTW constructs new plant and introduces new welding line.

In Vietnam, Metal established Universal Steel Fabrication Vina Japan, steel frame maker in 2008 when demand for building construction or bridge is expanding. Metal One invests Nippon Steel’s new plant for steel tube pile in Vietnam.

MC Metal Service Asia, steel sheet processer and DIA Modern Engineering Thailand, pressing component maker are continuing full operation. Both companies enhance production capacity when automobile output in Thailand is increasing at 1.5-1.6 million cars per year, and is expected to increase in the future.
