Japanese largest copper smelting company, Pan Pacific Copper announced on Wednesday the firm reduces the electrolytic copper production by 13% against the capacity in second half of fiscal 2010 ending in March 2010. The firm reduces the production by 10% in October-December and by 15% in January-March 2011. The firm’s operation has been reduced by around 7% since January 2009.
PPC reduces the electrolytic copper production when the firm’s copper ore purchasing conditions are worsening. The firm reduces copper concentrate purchase and increases secondary raw material including copper anode and copper scrap. However, the firm expects the raw materials cost increases due to the tight secondary raw material supply.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
