Japan Rolled Al Production Increases by 10.3% in August

Japanese rolled aluminium production increased by 10.3% to 153,570 tonnes in August from a year earlier, announced by Japan Aluminium Association on Tuesday. The shipment increased by 13.1% to 157,112 tonnes. The output and shipment increased for 9 months in a row.

The flat rolled aluminium production showed year-on-year increase for 9 months in a row through August. The shipment showed increases for 10 months in a row. The shipment increased by 13.8% to 35,083 tonnes for beverage can material due to hot summer. The flat products shipment increased by 30.0% to 11,403 for automobile due to tax reduction for eco-friendly car purchase.

The extrusion shipment increased by 3.9% to 35,546 tonnes for construction in August from a year earlier, which increased for the first time in 2 months. The shipment increased by 28.5% to 9,748 tonnes for automobile. The foil production and shipment showed year-on-year increase for 10 months in a row through August due to firm demand for capacitor and food.
