Sumitomo Wiring Systems launches wire harness commercial production at plants in Tunisia and Egypt in fiscal 2011 starting April 2011. The firm started construction of the new plant in Vietnam and eyes expansion in Indonesian in 2012 to meet growing demand. The firm shits the production to low-labor-cost countries and plans to export the product to advanced countries.
Sumitomo Wiring Systems started the construction of No.4 plant of affiliated company, Sumidenso Vietnam. The firm plans to start the supply to Japanese automobile makers in second half of 2011. Sumitomo Wiring Systems provides wire harness from the plant in Egypt for Japanese automobile makers and from the plant in Tunisia for Europe makers. The firm stopped the construction of the main facilities in Egypt and Tunisia amid the recession.
