JFE Steel to Expand Sales of Highest Strength Concrete Pile for Building Construction

JFE Steel announced on Tuesday the firm’s steel-concrete (SC) pile, named SUPER-SC, was adopted to several building construction projects. SUPER-SC is a concrete pile with outer steel shell which represents the highest strength in Japan and cooperatively developed with Mitani Sekisan, Japanese concrete pile supplier. SUPR-SC is made of JFE-HT570P, steel pipe with tension strength of 570 Newton per square meter. JFE Steel has acquired general building grade calculation of Building Center of Japan for the first time in Japan.

JFE Steel accepted SUPER-SC orders for 4 construction projects including new building construction beside Koshigaya station in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. SUPER-SC reduced steel weight by 30% and engineering cost by 10% compared with conventional SC piles. Adopted SUPER-SC was 5 meters long.

SUPER-SC represents higher strength by 80 Newton tension-strep per square meters than conventional HI-SC105. SUPER-SC is basically made of JFE-HT570P. Mitani Sekisan plans to increase its SC pile construction volume by 30% including SUPER-SC. JFE Steel aims to expand the sales for skyscrapers or large size plants.
