JP Steel Plantech to Expand Original Plate Leveler Sales

Japanese major steel plant maker, JP Steel Plantech tries to expand sales of next generation plate leveler with original dynamic crowning control system. The firm expands the marketing activity to increase the sales from current 2-3 sets per year level.

Plate leveler is divided into 4 generations depending on deflection adjustment system. Functional cold lever enables to make higher grade plate products including thermo mechanical control process (TMCP) plate by accelerated cooling system and ultra high strength plate by direct quenching technology.

JP Steel Plantech improved the deflection adjustment system for 4th generation leveler. The firm provided 12 sets of the leveler since the first order from Kakogawa works of Kobe Steel in 1997. Dongkuk Steel introduces the leveler at Pohang plant to start operation in spring 2012.

The leveler has higher performance in flatness, adjusting area, productivity and minimizing of residual stress. The firm tries to increase the sales including first order for hot leveler when plate mill project increases to meet growing demand for high grade plate steel.
