Ansteel Keeps Hot Coil Export Price for Japan Again

Anshan Iron and Steel notified Japanese users of hot rolled coil export price at C&F US$ 850 per tonne for July-August shipment as previous month, according to industry source. The firm left the price unchanged for 3 months in a row. The firm apparently tries to keep the price despite of slower Japanese market after the major earthquake when the cost of iron ore and raw materials could increase for July-September. The firm will receive order as normal level.

Anshan Iron and Steel apparently sees the firm cannot increase hot rolled coil export price to Japan under weak market after the major earthquake while the firm’s main competitor of Tokyo Steel Manufacturing reduces the selling price by 5,000 yen per tonne for June order. However, Anshan Iron and Steel couldn’t reduce the export price when iron ore and coal price would increase more.
