KITZ Metal Works in Brass Bar Full Production at 3,500T/M

KITZ Metal Works, Japanese major brass bar maker, is increasing the output volume in order to meet the strong demand. The present output is around 3,500 tonnes per month, as high as the recent peak in late 2010. The firm will continue operations of some of lines during Japanese long holidays in early May.

Bass bar orders have increased since Japan Earthquake in mid March. Brass bar is used for restoration and reconstruction of damaged buildings and facilities. Japanese brass bar makers have increased their productions. Japanese copper alloy fabricators’ brass bar production in March exceeded 17,000 tonnes for the first time since July 2008, according to Japan Copper & Brass Association.

KITZ Metal Works’ production temporarily decreased after the firm consumed order backlogs in late December 2010. The order volume started increasing after the earthquake. The firm returned to full capacity operation along the increase of order backlogs. Order level didn’t lower in April. The firm decided to continue the plant operation partially during long holidays in early May in order to shorten delivery lead time.
