Japanese 3 integrated steel makers dropped the production share of structural steel in fiscal 2010 ended March 2011 from fiscal 2009. The production increased by 39.4% to 8.714 million tonnes, which is 93% of the recent peak fiscal 2007 due to recovery in automobile and construction machinery output.
Sumitomo Metal Industries kept the first position in the structural steel production ranking in fiscal 2010 as fiscal 2009. However, the firm dropped the share by 1.5 percentage points to 17.5%. Kobe Steel dropped the share by 2.2 points to 15.8% and Nippon Steel by 1.2 points to 13.3%. Daido Steel dropped the share by 0.6 point to 8.7% in fiscal 2010 from fiscal 2009 and Aichi Steel by 0.5 point to 8.0%. JFE Steel raised the share by 0.6 point to 7.5%.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
