Dealers Unwelcome Tokyo Steel’s Pricing for August

Japanese steel dealers would experience hard time to increase selling price when Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announced on Tuesday the firm leaves steel selling price unchanged for 2 months in a row through August order.

Steel sheet dealer source sees the dealers could not increase the selling price due to slow demand and weak ferrous scrap market price. The import price is also low from South Korea, the source said.

Plate dealer source also sees plate market price would not increase due to low demand. The source sees Tokyo Steel would not increase the selling price when ferrous scrap price decreased.

H-beam dealer saw Tokyo Steel leaves the selling price unchanged for August order. The dealers lose the money on sales at 77,000-79,000 yen per tonne.
