Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 36,500-37,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade at local electric furnace steel makers’ purchase price around Osaka. Some local electric furnaces reduced the purchase price. However, the makers would not reduce the price more when Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increased the purchase price by 500-1,000 yen on Wednesday.
Local electric furnaces around Osaka reduced purchase price of industrial grade scrap including turning scrap and new cutting grade. The dealer source said the scrap demand slows after Nakayama Steel Woks has decreased the scrap purchase due to trouble at steel making operation. Trading firm source sees the local electric furnaces’ scrap purchase would decrease in July compared with April-June due to slow steel shipment. Local scrap supply is expected to be balanced with lower scrap supply from manufacturers under limited power availability.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
