According to multiple sources from parts suppliers, Toyota Motor Corp. has decided to keep the prices paid for steel sheets for centralized purchasing in the second half of FY2023 (October 2023 to March 2024), the basis for parts assessment, unchanged from the second half of the previous fiscal year (October 2022 to March 2023).
In response, parts manufacturers began notifying their trading distributors and others.
The price of supplied materials is revised semiannually by Toyota in response to string price negotiations with blast furnace makers, and was unchanged for the second consecutive semiannual period, following the first half of the year. The price of steel sheets for automobiles, which had been a string index for many industries, remained at a high level.
