Japanese ferrous scrap export price hit FAS 22,910 yen per tonne for H2 grade at joint tender held by Kansai Tetsugen on Monday. The price was 730 yen higher than the price at the previous tender held on February 16. Though the price was around 1,000-2,000 yen lower than ferrous scrap purchasing price by local electric furnaces steel makers, new export price rose from the previous month and contract volume of joint export shipped by May expanded to about 15,000 tons. Some concerned parties said that local market price might slow down a falling trend.
